FAQ
Q: How long are you going for?
A: We're setting off on Saturday August 15th 2009 (come and wave us off) and returning some time in May 2010, so approx. 8 months
Q: Which countries are you travelling through?
A: France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, INDIA hurrah, oh, and back
Q: Are you mad?
A: Actually no, some of the countries we're travelling through have got bad press due to tabloid journalism and the locals are rather nice
Q: Why do it?
A: We've always wanted to travel but due to the teensy problem of Pete not flying, this seemed an ideal solution especially when those "actors" managed to do it alright
Q: What have your employers said?
A: Pete; I'm self-employed so I can do what I like. Caf; I work for Royal Mail and have applied for a career break so fingers crossed they'll say go for it otherwise I may be forced to resign. P.S. I got it YIPPEE!!!
Q: Caf, how are you going to get your crash helmet on?
A: These dreads are quite squishy so fingers crossed it'll go on no problemo
Q: Who's looking after Kay?
A: Caf; My folks
Q: What are you doing with the house?
A: Renting it out to a mate so unfortunately it's gotta be decorated, boo
Q: Are you going on one bike?
A: Er, no

The route we took in Iran caused us to come across a great deal of building works and the remains of a distinct lack of it. The war between Iran and Iraq had certainly left it's mark along the Persian Gulf, but the people we met seem to be moving on and taking advantage of the economic success the country is experiencing at present (in some cities by charging us rates we would have expected in a reasonable hotel in central London.)
Bit of a disappointment really, UNESCO had got their hands on it
